In India, our mythology has always made space for BhooDevi – The Earth Goddess, and has even conceived the country as Bharat Mata or Mother India, immortalised in Mehboob Khan’s classic film of the same name. In the globalised times that we live in, we are impacted as much by global cultural shifts as by undercurrents of social unrest  in our own body politic that necessitate the return of what the Goddess stands for, but in a recontextualized frame. Among other things, this session will explore how the age-old mythic inscriptions of patriarchy can be gently refreshed with a renewed vision of complementary energies that both restore and nourish an ‘out-of-balance’ world.
